Let me know if you have any questions about Hotels in the Pigeon Forge area. One of our favorites is the Clarion Inn Willow River. Check out their website for some great deals.

Check out their $35 Winter Special!!

Hi Tim
We are going to visiting PF in about 3wks. I orignally had reservations at Econo riverside but changed them to Park Grove Inn. I chose this hotel instead because it looks like its off the main drag a little and its fairly new. Ive read reviews saying the rooms are huge which is what we need since we have a 10mth old and tons of baby gear :D Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me anything good or bad about Park Grove or Econo. I have read good reviews on Tripadvisors but not sure what to expect.
Also, we are going to the Dixie Stamped, Dollywood and Ripleys Aquir. We want to hit Cades Cove and of course the Smoky Mtn. Park. I have also read traffic is terrible whats your input on that? We are coming from lower Mich do you think its worth the long drive with a 10th old?
Thanks for all your input!!!!!!!!!

I have stayed at the Park Grove Inn before and it is very nice. Here is a link to their web page if you have not already seen it.

The folks there are really nice and a pretty good contiental breakfast. It has been a couple of years since I have been there so I hope that everything is still just as good.

One of the things that I really like about it was that it is next to the Community Center which is very nice.

Yes the traffic is bad. They are working on the roads there and when they get done it will be much better. There are really no shortcuts around the traffic either. The main thing that I think that you need to do is to go there with the understanding that the traffic is going be bad. If you expect it to be bad you can be mentally prepared for it haha. Actually when you get through Sevierville and headed toward Pigeon Forge the traffic is not usually bad at all. It also depends on when you go. Early mornings are not near as bad as midday. Weekends are much worse than weekdays.
To me the traffic is just like the long lines at Disney World, you know that they are going be there but have fun anyway.

Any other opinions or ideas on this??

The ten month old will enjoy Dixie Stampede and Dollywood because there is always some action going on. There are lots of kids that age at Dollywood. In fact you will see kids of all ages. When we were there last week we saw newborns (which is too young in my opinion) to eighty plus.

Cades Cove is a pretty long drive from Pigeon Forge and then there is an eleven mile loop around the Valley, so plan on taking most of one day to do that trip. The loop drive is normally fairly slow. The baby make get a little bored with a trip to Cades Cove.

What do the rest of you folks think??
